The call has gone out for businesses large and small, to recognize the contribution their staff make, as the North East Employee of the Year Awards for 2019 is launched.
The annual event aims to recognize the talent of employees from across the region in nine categories, including Best Apprentice, Unsung Hero, Team of the Year and the Leadership Award.
Organisers are urging people to nominate colleagues who they feel make an invaluable contribution to their businesses. Nominations from managers, directors and board members are also welcomed for employees who deserve special recognition, or who have already won awards within the company.
Tesco Underwriting have once again agreed to headline sponsor the event. Nicky Sutherland, Tesco Underwriting Head of HR and Development said "It’s an honour to be sponsoring the North East Employee of the Year Awards for the fourth year in a row. We see these awards as a true celebration of individuality and a brilliant opportunity for businesses in the region to recognise the contribution and talent of their people. They are certainly something we look forward to, and it’s great to see them back in action for 2019."
The event will take place on November 29th, 2019 at Crowne Plaza, in the Stephenson Quarter in Newcastle.
The 2018 North East Employee of the Year winner Joanne Vinton-Bullwinkel from Firstsource Solutions Limited said, “My nomination for last year's Leadership award was, in itself, a huge honour. I have been lucky enough to work with some incredible people throughout my career and our collective achievements have been vast, but being nominated by a team that have been with me for the lows as well as the highs, was by far the highlight of my career to date."
“Picking up the Employee of the Year award was an incredibly humbling and somewhat emotional! experience and a worthy reflection of the amazing work my team had done that year. This award opened a lot of doors for me and helped me build new working relationships which, in turn, helped me to help others develop and advance within their own careers. It also led to an opportunity that was so perfect I didn't even believe it was real when I was first approached about it. My current role is the stuff of dreams and I will be forever grateful for the people who made it possible."
The event is being organised by events company, The Events Hero and further information can be obtained from www.thenortheastemployeeawards.co.uk.
Event organiser and owner of The Event Hero, Sie Francis said “We are delighted to be able to celebrate the amazing contribution employees make to the success of their companies. We are so grateful to Tesco Underwriting for their sponsorship of this event once again, to which the awards would not have gone ahead without them. We want to see a record number of entries this year and I would urge all North East businesses to get behind the awards to not only celebrate but say thank you to their great employees.”
